This compressed wood is made in France from sawdust, from French forests, 100% natural for impeccable quality. The wood is not treated, and contains no glue, additives or chemical binders. Each log weighs approximately 2 kg. It is composed of 50% hardwoods (oak and beech) and 50% various hardwoods (G1/G2). The calorific value is 3 times higher compared to traditional wood logs. A log provides constant heat and burns between 1 and 2 hours. Densified wood is a clean and dust-free wood, which greatly reduces the fouling of your stove as well as the quantity of ash. Densified wood is an ecological product that comes from the recovery and recycling of raw materials. It is economical: 1 pallet of densified wood corresponds to 4 cubic meters of traditional wood. It is an easy wood to store (imperatively protected from humidity) These logs can be used in all wood heating appliances: insert or stove.

How are long-lasting logs made?

Steps in the manufacturing of night logs

Considered as a premium firewood, night logs are made through the following 4 steps:

The raw bark is cleaned to remove dust and the outer protective crust
The purified bark is then ground and dried at high temperature.
The manufacturing of night logs starts with mixing the ground bark with sawdust
carefully selected and dried, according to specific proportions.
During densification, the calibrated material is strongly compressed under high temperature, which extracts lignin, a natural component.

Preparation for the night fire:

Make sure you have a sufficient bed of embers to avoid slow combustion and smoke buildup on the appliance glass. Depending on the size of the space, place 2 to 3 night logs, avoiding adding more to prevent overheating. Check the seal tightness to limit air entry and leave a bed of ash to block air coming from below.

Log arrangement:

Place the logs side by side or stacked without direct contact with the glass.

Open the air draft to the maximum to facilitate ignition.
